Engineering Development Testing
Development testing is often used to prove engineering theory or calculations and to prove the scientific basis of a specific design. Development testing often provides confidence in a design prior to qualification testing.
Development testing goes hand in hand with analysis. Modal identification utilizing GVT shakers, ping testing, or laser holography is often used to identify vibration modes and calculate damping ratios for correlation to analysis.
